Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the successful candidate will take full ownership and responsibility of the running of a busy Manufacturing Warehouse. Deliveries must be booked in (receipted), put into storage locations and picked to meet the needs of the business. Stock control is a vital part of this role to ensure our stock is fully managed and MAL will take full responsibility for stock check activities within the Warehouse department. Strong team management will be required to ensure work is completed in a safe manner whilst meeting the deliverables of the business.

• Always work in a safe manner and ensure the health and safety of team members and visitors to site. Ensure team members follow all company H&S procedures at all times.
• Receiving of goods deliveries and supplies.
• Checking for damaged or missing parts on deliveries.
• Booking in and storing goods in their correct storage locations.
• Moving stock using equipment such as forklift truck, pallet trucks and manual handling equipment.
• Picking of orders in preparation for Production.
• Packing of goods in preparation for dispatch.
• Loading goods for dispatch.
• Liaising where necessary with Procurement, Parts and Planning Departments.
• Maintain stock accuracy at all times to include full stock check responsibility. Warehouse must be “audit ready” at all times.
• Performing frequent stock checks to confirm stock accuracy.
• Maintaining accurate records of stock.
• Keeping all associated paperwork and MRP/ERP systems up to date.
• Coordinate and assist with the removal of obsolete / redundant raw and component materials to maximise availability of working capital.
• Develop Standard Operating procedures and safe systems of work for all Warehouse activities.
• Produce skills matrices to identify skills gaps within the Warehouse team and development plans to fill the gaps.
• Preparation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to clearly display the departmental performance with regards to stock check accuracy, picks per hour, picks without shortages (clean picks), team productivity etc….
• Warehouse team attendance and holiday management to include submission of timesheets for Agency workers.
• Continually strive to improve the processes and systems that the company uses to control stock.
• Ensure all stock locations are clearly identified and maintained.
• Work closely with the manufacturing team and attend the daily GEMBA & Production meetings.
• Ensure manufacturing rejects are managed and transacted correctly within the Warehouse.
• Ensure COSHH materials are managed and controlled correctly within the Warehouse.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as identified by the Manufacturing Manager.
• Ensure high standards of 6S are maintained within the Warehouse at all times.
• Ensure waste materials are recycled at the end of each working day.

• Good standard of education.
• Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grade C or above to include Mathematics & English). Or significant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a busy Warehouse environment.
• Minimum of 2 years team leadership
/ Management experience.
• Computer literate including Microsoft office.
• ERP experience
• Stock check experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Capable of working with a high degree of accuracy.
